Project Details

Patubig 2.0 marks the second-year rollout of JCI Surigao Nickel’s award-winning flagship initiative, recognized as Best Local Corporate Social Responsibility Program. Anchored on the JCI Creed and guided by the B.E.N.D.E.R.S. framework, this phase targets the installation of 19 pre-cluster water distribution units across Barangay Macopa, San Francisco, Surigao del Norte. Each unit features 10 distribution points, collectively serving 190 households or approximately 950 individuals. More than a water project, Patubig 2.0 empowers the community through hygiene training, local maintenance capacity-building, and sustainability-focused partnerships. Implemented with a lean budget of PHP 105,000, it exemplifies youth-led civic action

and efficient resource utilization. Through collaboration with engineers, LGUs, and private partners, volunteers, the initiative fosters long-term water access, improved public health, and community resilience. Patubig 2.0 is a replicable model for grassroots development, reaffirming JCI’s mission to create positive change and proving that service to humanity remains the best work of life.
