JCI Surigao Nickel, represented by our 2024 LO President John Lester Fetalvero, recently had the pleasure of meeting with Mayor Richelle Romarate of the Municipality of Tubod to discuss an exciting future partnership. The meeting focused on our MaluPET QR initiative, a project designed to enhance pet safety and well-being through personalized QR tags.
The MaluPET QR initiative aims to provide pet owners with a simple yet effective way to ensure the safety of their pets. Each QR tag contains vital information that can be easily accessed by scanning the code, offering a quick way to identify and return lost pets to their owners.
During the meeting, we discussed the potential benefits this collaboration could bring to the Tubod community. Mayor Romarate expressed enthusiasm about the initiative and its alignment with the municipalityβs goals for community safety and animal welfare. This partnership is expected to bolster efforts to promote responsible pet ownership and improve the overall safety of pets in Tubod.
As we progress with the planning and implementation of this initiative, we look forward to keeping the community updated on our advancements and the positive outcomes expected from this partnership.

The culmination program was a grand finale to a series of activities aimed at enhancing community resilience and preparedness. It brought together various stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders, and partner organizations, to celebrate and reinforce our collective efforts in disaster risk reduction and management.
During the event, we were deeply honored to receive a token of appreciation for our active partnership with the Provincial Government, headed by Gov. Lyndon Barbers, and the PDRRMO-Surigao del Norte. This recognition underscores our commitment to supporting initiatives that strengthen our community's ability to respond to and recover from disasters.

Surigao City, July 6, 2024 β The much-anticipated "Creating the Future: Arduino and Robotics Training for Innovators YEAR 2" commenced its first day of Batch 1 training at the DICT Surigao del Norte Provincial Training Center. The initiative, aimed at empowering local innovators with essential skills in Arduino and robotics, promises to pave the way for technological advancements and creativity within the community.
Led by esteemed trainers, the training program welcomed a 6β12-year-old group of participants eager to delve into the realms of electronics, programming, and designing. Throughout the day, participants engaged in hands-on sessions, mastering foundational concepts and exploring practical applications of Arduino technology.
The event was marked by collaborative learning and interactive discussions, underscoring the program's commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and technological literacy. Participants expressed optimism about the skills gained and the potential impact on their future projects and endeavors.
JCI Surigao Nickel had a successful inaugural ride of the JCI Surigao Nickel Moto Club! Our dedicated team covered an impressive 130km, showcasing our passion and camaraderie. The journey concluded with a satisfying lunch and great conversations.

The Board of Directors of JCI Surigao Nickel together with JCI Surigao Wensie and JCI Surigao North were honored to be invited to the 2nd State of Local Governance Report by Mayor Pablo Yves L.
